Carestart provides an intendend point-of-care (POC) test with a 10 minute processing time allowing for effective screening of COVID-19 infection on a large scale. Each test kit contains 20 tests in a box allowing for rapid and side scale testing.

This type of testing has the added benefit of no instrumentation and can be read by the naked eye with results available in 10 minutes. The specimen is collected with a simple nasopharyngeal swab and is designed to be used by medical professionals in a patient care setting.

The test will identify the SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein antigen with a high sensitivity of 88.7% and 100% specificity.
